Federal prosecutors move toward indicting Sean 'Diddy' Combs as accusers set to testify before Grand Jury

In a significant development, federal prosecutors are preparing to bring Sean "Diddy" Combs' accusers before a grand jury, signaling a potential move by the US Justice Department towards seeking an indictment against the embattled music mogul, according to a recent report. Witnesses have been notified by investigators that they could be called to testify in front of a federal grand jury in New York City, a source revealed to CNN on Wednesday.

This development comes amidst a series of serious allegations against Combs, including seven accusations of sexual assault. The allegations against Combs, 54, began with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Cassie Ventura filing a lawsuit in November 2023, accusing him of rape and repeated physical abuse.

The lawsuit was settled out of court within one day of its filing. However, a disturbing surveillance video surfaced earlier this month, showing Combs violently beating Ventura in a hotel hallway in 2016. The video captures Ventura, 37, exiting a hotel room with several bags, walking briskly towards the elevators.

She is seen wearing a black hoodie over her head, jeans, and sneakers. Shortly after, Combs appears in nothing but a towel and runs towards her, grabbing her by the neck before kicking her as she lies on the floor.

Ventura addressed the shocking footage for the first time last week, expressing gratitude for the support she has received and emphasizing the issue of domestic violence. She stated that the incident "broke me down to someone I never thought I would become" and noted that she is on a "healing journey."

Combs subsequently issued an apology, acknowledging the incident as one of the "darkest times" of his life and taking "full responsibility" for his actions in the video. He expressed disgust at his behavior but had initially denied Ventura's allegations of abuse and rape, calling them "offensive and outrageous."

The Department of Homeland Security raided Combs' Los Angeles and Miami estates in March in connection to allegations of sex trafficking, money laundering, and illegal drugs. A spokesperson for Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) declined to comment on the existence of a grand jury but noted that the agency's investigation remains ongoing.

A second source told CNN that investigators are being thorough and taking their time to ensure that any potential indictment is "bulletproof." Combs' attorney did not immediately return Page Six's request for comment. As the legal proceedings unfold, the music industry and the public at large await further developments in this high-profile case.
