On Saturday, three security sources told Reuters that they saw multiple drones flying over Iraq's Sulaymaniya province. They said the drones came from Iran and it confirms that Iran attacks Israel.
Israel declared on Saturday that it was under a significant threat from Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), prompting the activation of its defence systems to either intercept the drones or warn residents in potentially targeted regions to seek shelter.
Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the chief military spokesperson, shared during a televised briefing that the drones were expected to remain in flight for several hours. He also acknowledged the deployment of "Wing of Zion," Israel's counterpart to the U.S. "Air Force One," stating it was a necessary operational measure.
According to information from three security sources speaking to Reuters, a fleet of drones was spotted departing from Iran and flying across Iraq's Sulaymaniya province on Saturday.
Retired General Amos Yadlin, a renowned expert, affirmed during an interview with Israel's Channel 12 TV news that the drones were equipped with 20 kilograms of explosives each. He stressed Israel's readiness to intercept and neutralize any threats posed by these UAVs.
Earlier this week, The Times of Israel reported that Iran's ballistic missiles could reach Israel within 12 minutes, while suicide UAVs might take up to 9 hours to reach the target.
