Janhvi Kapoor (born 6 March 1997) is an Indian actress who works in Hindi films. Born to Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, she made her acting debut in 2018 with the romantic drama Dhadak, which was a commercial success.
Kapoor received nominations for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for playing the titular aviator in Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020) and a woman trapped in a freezer in Mili (2022).
Kapoor was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, to actor Boney Kapoor and actress Sridevi. She has two half-brothers, Arjun Kapoor and Anshuman Kapoor, from her father's previous marriages. Kapoor's mother died in February 2018, two weeks before the release of her debut film, Dhadak.
Kapoor attended the Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai. She then studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. After completing her studies, Kapoor returned to India and began her acting career.
