In a recent interview, actor Rani Mukerji talked about her marriage to film producer Aditya Chopra, who managed to stay out of the public eye until this year when he appeared in a documentary series about his family's Yash Raj Films studio, a relationship that thrives on a foundation of "mutual respect." She elaborated on their deep understanding of each other, both in their careers and personal lives, which significantly contributes to maintaining a strong and healthy bond. She's happy that her usually private husband Aditya is now okay with being seen in public more often, especially after he appeared in a documentary series about their family-owned Yash Raj Films studio.
Rani mentioned that she's somewhat taken aback by Aditya's newfound eagerness to go out after "The Romantics." She humorously pointed “It’s become a big problem, because I chose to marry a guy who isn’t known (publicly)”. “I chose right, because I didn’t want to choose a person who is outgoing outgoing. I’m happy at home, he’s happy at home, we both are happy at home. It would’ve been really difficult if I had a husband who was like, ‘Hey, let’s go out partying’. I’d be like, ‘Really? Is staying in bed really that bad?’ I chose right in that department. He doesn’t force me to go anywhere, I don’t force him to go anywhere. We are so happy being at home.” She mentioned that because they deeply respect each other, it's easier for them to talk without any ulterior motives, personal pride, or criticism.
Rani, who is currently working on her memoirs, jokingly mentioned that Aditya doesn't really have a say when it comes to her including stories about him in the book. Rani made a lighthearted comment that her husband tends to be quite shy when it comes to acknowledging the influence she's had on his life, but she also noted how well they balance each other.
